The Patriots-at-Colts game in Week 15 has been scheduled to be played Saturday Dec. 18 at 8:20 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on NFL Network. When the original schedule was released in the spring, Patriots-Colts was one of five games that the league left open to be played Dec. 18 or 19. With both teams surging, the league opted to pick Patriots-Colts as worthy of the prime-time slot.

Linebacker Cameron McGrone, the Patriots' fifth-round pick from Michigan who has spent the year on the non-football injury list after tearing his ACL in his final college season, practiced for the first time on Tuesday. This starts the 21-day clock for him to practice without counting on the 53-man roster. Also, sixth-round pick Joshuah Bledsoe (Missouri), who had injured his wrist in college, began practicing for the first time as well after opening the year on the NFI list.

One notable part of Bill Belichick's Monday morning video conference came when he was asked about veteran safety Adrian Phillips and said: "One of our best players. One of our most versatile players. And he almost always does the right thing ... kind of a lot like [Patrick] Chung." That is some of the highest praise possible from the Patriots' coach.

J.C. Jackson: "I don't want to brag too much but I feel like we have one of the best defenses in the league. We got a good pass rush and guys up front that are doing good this season. The secondary has always been pretty good and we are starting to build chemistry."

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

Mac Jones: "I think (the Falcons) emptied the clip on what they were going to try and bring against us. They did a good job on the defensive side. We can do better on offense, so we'll do that and it all just starts with watching the film. It's a short week but there's no excuses. We can play better, and we will."

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

"We got some big plays defensively. Nick made some kicks and we did enough offensively to score enough points to get ahead and win. Hopefully, we can just play a little bit more consistently. We had obviously way too many penalties. Killed us in the return game, killed us offensively. We got to do a better job there. But it's good to get to come down here and get a win and get a couple of days here this weekend to kind of catch our breath and then be ready to go. Short week but good week."
